Day 87/365

Tonight we're staying in our first motel of the trip, so that means wireless internet access! We're currently in Coos Bay, Oregon visiting a friend, and we'll be here 'til Friday morning. Today's photo was taken at sunset at the Hollering Place, a local pier right on the bay where you can usually see people fishing and crabbing off of the docks. Tomorrow we're planning on exploring some of the beaches and other areas around, so I'll be sure to update soon!

Read after the jump for a recap of the past few days of the trip...

We got to Yellowstone National Park on Monday night, just in time to see the sun set and pass quite a few different animals, (bison and elk to name a few), before setting up our tent for the night. Tuesday was spent exploring around the park, mainly around Old Faithful, (as yesterday's post shows), before we drove to Washington to stay at a park in the middle of the Scablands/Ginkgo Petrified Forest.

Our campsite in Washington was right on the Columbia River, and was absolutely beautiful, but became incredibly windy overnight. We woke up around four o'clock this morning to half of our tent attempting to blow away, (and it probably would have if we weren't still sleeping in it). We also had a coyote that kept hanging out around our site when we had a campfire last night, so the experience there was a bit surreal overall. We eventually gave up on sleep this morning, packed up our gear despite the constant gusts of wind, and drove down to Oregon, where we're now extremely ready for sleep.

*****Also, I've uploaded other photos I've taken so far on the trip to my Flickr page, so if you'd like you can check those out here. I won't be able to add them to my website until I get back, (and even then, probably not 'til after I've moved up to Michigan).
