Day 223/365

This past Sunday/day 223 was a lazy day inside. The weather in Ohio was rainy and cool, so the only time I actually ventured outside was to take the dogs out in my mom's front yard. Other than that, it was a movies and sweatpants kind of day, (not that that's a bad thing).

Day 217/365

Today was a super quiet one work-wise, although I was officially offered an extension on my internship, so I will be in Saginaw until June! It's a big relief. I love my job and I work with some great people, so I'm really glad I get to stay longer.

Anyways, before I was on shift, I took Kip for a walk around the apartment complex and took a quick photo of the steadily-growing ground covering of leaves. Quite a few are still hanging in there on the trees, and have started turning this fantastic golden color; it's quite pretty. Today was mostly sunny, until right before our walk it let loose for about fifteen minutes and then abruptly stopped, leaving huge puddles on the easily-flooded sidewalks by my building.

Day 213/365

Thursday I hit the ground running in order to make up for missing work on Wednesday. My first assignment was a food giveaway first thing in the morning in the Bay City area. It was the first food giveaway/food drive that I've covered where everything that was donated and being given away was fresh produce; it was nice to see nutritious and wholesome foods being given to those in need for a change. It was also raining pretty steadily, and I thought the weather had a nice aesthetically-pleasing effect on this flat of tomatoes.

Day 209/365

The rain did let up a little bit on Sunday/yesterday/day 209, but you wouldn't have known it with the way the parking lots in my apartment complex like to flood. The wet leaves  on the trees did make some nice ripple effects in the puddles *cough* lakes *cough* though.

Day 208/365

Saturday/day 208 is a pet post! You know you've missed 'em. Saginaw weather was pretty dismal this past weekend; with cool temperatures, gusting winds, and plenty of rain. I kept waiting for a break in the weather to take Kip for a walk after I got off work, but it never came so we ended up going for a walk/swim. Saturday's entry is a photo of the aftermath!

Day 201/265

Yesterday was a pretty dreary day, but when it rains that usually means you can have some fun with reflections on the road, especially at night when you get different colored lights involved. So day 201 is just a little abstract bit of fun; I'm not big on abstract photography all that often, but every once in a while it's fun to play around with everything.

Day 154/365

The weather during my drive back to Saginaw yesterday couldn't seem to make up its mind. It would be sunny one second, then part of the sky would become overcast and rain at the same time. It made for some interesting clouds, which I'm always a sucker for.

Day 145/365

Today I was originally supposed to cover the last day of the Bay County Fair, but what I really ended up covering was how the Bay County Fair got cut short due to all the flooding in Bay City since it's rained so much this past week. It was pretty interesting to see carnival rides sinking into the mud and carnival workers wading their way through standing water to take everything apart. Definitely unlike any carnival I've ever been to!

Day 144/365

It's been consistently raining all day today in Saginaw. Some side roads have started to flood, and Bay City is experiencing some major flooding throughout the area. Since rain was the main topic of discussion almost anywhere you'd go, I was assigned the task of going out and taking rain pictures. I'm a sucker for ripples and the overlapping designs they make, so this photo for today's entry was my favorite from my rain-soaked adventures today.

Day 130/365

Today's entry is from my first assignment today, which I shot first thing this morning. I'm not a fan of golf, but I found it much more interesting to shoot this morning when it started to pour rain on the course. The tournament I shot this morning was for a junior league, so it was mostly younger kids who were barely taller than their clubs, and their reactions to trying to play with the rain coming down were absolutely priceless.

Day 50/365

The weather couldn't seem to make up its mind at all today. It started out cool and cloudy this morning, then stormed a bit, and then alternated between sun and storm clouds for the rest of the day. I got caught in one of the mini storms on my way home from running errands, and liked how the water droplets looked on my car's window. I'm also a sucker for the bokeh effect so that was just an added bonus!

Day 27/365

I went out onto the sidewalk at my mom's house and shot some video of the drizzling rain we've been having on and off all day for entry twenty-seven. I've been feeling a bit sick today so I wanted to make sure I got something done for my multimedia challenge before living in my bed for the rest of the day.

Day 16/365

Today's been mostly overcast with the sun trying to peek out once or twice, but we did have a mild five-minute storm with a bit of rain and thunder earlier this morning. I had just enough time to record some of the thunder, but by the time I went up onto the balcony at my mom's house to take pictures, (or video, like I was originally going to attempt), the rain had already stopped.

Day 11/365

I got up early this morning and went down to the railroad tracks underneath the 615 bridge with an idea already in mind for today's post. It didn't turn out how I wanted to, so I'll be attempting it another day when I think it'll work out better. Anyways, when I was down by the train tracks I went up alongside one of the buildings and noticed that the rain gutter and drain next to it were making some pretty interesting sounds. I've always liked the textured look of peeling paint as well, and, with the cool-tone morning light, the impromptu opportunity became my entry for day eleven!
