Day 357/365

Every time I walk Kip at night since there's been snow on the ground, I keep noticing the funky shadows that the fencing in my apartment complex casts over everything. I keep telling myself to take a picture next time, so on Monday night/day 357 I finally remembered. Not my best, but there's only so much you can do when you have a leashed energetic mutt vying for your attention.

Day 336/365

Monday/day 336 was spent catching up on sleep, running errands, and driving back up to Michigan.  I didn't get a chance to get much of anything photo-worthy, which I'm sure is painfully obvious.

Day 325/365

Last night/day 325 storm Nemo finally hit Saginaw... about an hour before midnight. I went around the area with a reporter, (who thankfully offered to drive), and got photos of the first signs of all the doom and gloom. At one point we decided to check out the view from the top of one of the parking garages in downtown Saginaw, and I ended up putting together this panorama with the results. Day 224/365

I ended up having to work Monday night instead of having the day off as originally planned. I covered some high school sports and some early trick-or-treating, and a sad story about a family's dog who was killed by loose neighborhood dogs. I was in a weird mood after that one, but the amazing sunset managed to make up  for it a bit.

Day 201/265

Yesterday was a pretty dreary day, but when it rains that usually means you can have some fun with reflections on the road, especially at night when you get different colored lights involved. So day 201 is just a little abstract bit of fun; I'm not big on abstract photography all that often, but every once in a while it's fun to play around with everything.

Day 91/365

I tried some night shooting for the first time on this trip. This is the nighttime sky as seen from our campsite at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. We're pretty exhausted; the temperature got up to 113° while we were exploring around in Death Valley National Park in Nevada this morning, so by the time we got to our site here we set up our tent and laid low the rest of the day. Tomorrow we'll go check out more of Bryce Canyon before heading out to the Grand Canyon where we'll be camping the next two nights! I'll update whenever I get the chance, but in the meantime I added a few photos to my Flickr page if any of you are interested.
