Saturday/day 348 I got to check out roller derby for the first time ever. It. was. awesome. There really isn't any other word for it. One of my friends from work was on one of the teams, and while they lost the bout, it was incredibly close the entire time. It was a lot of fun to see and shoot for the first time. My flash died on me when I was doing test shots when I first got there, so I was a bit bummed about that, but I'm definitely planning on shooting it again. Until next time!

Day 332/365
Thursday night/day 332 was another night of basketball. The game was between two local Midland rivals, and was pretty exciting. Midland Dow, a team with a perfect record so far this season, kept their record going when they won.

Day 316/365
Tuesday/day 316 I got to shoot a new antique store in Saginaw, and then a high school basketball doubleheader. Two local Midland rivals played each other, the girls varsity teams followed by the boys. Both games were fun to watch. One of the girls teams had a come-from-beind victory, which is always crazy, and the boys were pretty evenly matched.

Day 263/365
I apologize for the serious delay in updates. I'm in the process of switching apartments and I won't have my internet service switched over until sometime this weekend, and I've also been working remotely more than in the office this past week so my internet access has been touch and go.
Anyways, Friday/day 263's post is another basketball one. It capped off a pretty tumultuous week for me personally with having to deal with my volatile neighbors, so shooting the game before driving home to spend the weekend in Ohio was literally a breath of fresh air.

Day 176/365
Tonight I covered a cross country meet. It was at a park nearby that had a small pond and quite a few hills, so it was at least visually different as far as the course went. These were the two photos I liked the most, and when it came to posting today's entry I just couldn't pick between them, so day 176 is a diptych! Day 156/365
Today one of my assignments was to get photos of a former Detroit Red Wings hockey player, Kris Draper, visiting the local minor league baseball stadium in Midland. While I was waiting for Draper to arrive at Dow Diamond I got to sit by the dugout and watch the Great Lakes Loons warm up and have batting practice. It was such a nice day out; it was a perfect afternoon for baseball. Unfortunately, I didn't get to stay for the game, but I'm hoping that I get assigned to cover one before this season's over. We'll see!
